Takashi Sato is a Japanese landscape photographer born in Fukui Prefecture in 1963. Besides natural landscape, he has been enchanted by the beautiful scenery of rural area with people living and farming there. In order to capture the beauty of rural scenes of Japan, he extensively travels across the country sleeping in his car for weeks.
He runs workshop called “Sato (County) Hot (Photo)” in “Minuma” area, near his home town of Saitama. There people who love nature and landscape photos get together and enjoy photographing the scenery of “Minuma Tambo”, the nearest rural area to Tokyo.
Numbers of photo exhibitions have been held in Japan including the 2014 exhibition titled “Landscape of Japanese Villages” at Fujifilm Square in Roppongi, Tokyo. In 2016, he was invited by the Museum of Montreal Botanical Garden which featured his work from May 15 to Oct. 31.
Solo show will be held at Fujifilm Square in Roppongi, Tokyo in March, 2017.
Along with the publication of a photobook titled “Home in My Heart: Photographing ‘Uomuma’”, he has been energetically publishing his works in photographical magazines, calendars and industrial magazines.
He is a member of Japan Landscape Photographers Association.
